WOLLIMEX has been manufacturing fleeces for 75 years in Sevelen on the St. Gallen side of the Valley of the Rhine in Eastern Switzerland. Originally, these were woollen fleeces made from regenerated shoddy wool. Due to the shortage of wool before and during the Second World War, synthetic fibres such as Nylon and Polypropylene were increasingly being used to manufacture fleeces.
As from the middle of the 1960s, WOLLIMEX commenced the production of needle-punched floor-carpeting and around 10 years later, these products could be backed and laminated on a specially developed coating line.With the design of its production plants, WOLLIMEX can produce high quality needle punched fleeces with or without heavy rubber-or rubber granule backing as well as cut PU-foam lamination for the following applications:
